Arc dramatically reduces certain surface and airborne microorganisms, including up to 99.999% of E. coli on a hard, non-porous surface. UV-C has been proven to work on bacteria, viruses, fungi, and mold. So not only will Arc reduce the toughest microorganisms, including antibiotic-resistant strains, but it will also deactivate fungi and mold - reducing the unpleasant smells that typically accompany mold spores and helping prevent future mold from forming.
Here is an example of how effective the Arc is at deactivating some dangerous microorganisms (data provided by a third-party test):
Additionally, UV-C Dose Cards can be placed in the room before running a cycle. The yellow photo-chromatic ink circle will change colors depending on the amount of exposure to UV-C light. If the center of the UV-C Dosimeter changes to orange, it means that a level of energy lethal to MRSA has been delivered. If it changes to dark pink, it shows that a level of energy lethal to C.Diff has been delivered. You can use these periodically to validate the efficacy of the device or to test how much light is being delivered to certain areas of the room.
