In our article Do We Have the Right Amount of Office Space?, we explain the difference between Me spaces and We spaces. Understanding this distinction is essential, as each serves a different purpose.
-
Me spaces are designed for focused, individual work—such as desks or single-person phone booths.
- We spaces support collaboration and teamwork—like huddle rooms or open collaboration areas.
Analyzing Me and We Spaces in Connect
Because Me and We spaces serve different goals, they raise different questions. It's best to analyze them separately in the Connect application.
Using R-Zero Tags
Tags in Connect are used to identify and label space types. Sensors themselves don’t “know” what space they are in—tags like “conference room” give them context and make them filterable on the dashboard.
Step-by-Step Guide
- On the Main Menu, navigate to “Spaces”
-
In the filter panel:
- select Building
- Select Floor (Optional)
- Next, lets dive into the Space Tags filter options
Filtering by Space Tags

| 💡 Tip | If you plan to monitor this filter combination frequently, save it and give it a name—for example: “Me Spaces - T-TH Biweekly View” |
WE SPACE
You can also filter for We spaces in two ways:
Option 1: by Space type
- Clip to open the Space Tags filter options
- Select space types designated for collaboration like Open Collaboration Spaces, Huddle Rooms, Multi-seat Phone Rooms etc.
- (Optional) Apply additional time filters
- Click Update
| 💡 Tip | Separate open vs. closed spaces (like conference rooms) to compare utilization trends and discover which one your employees enjoy more. |
Option 2: by Capacity
- Filter by: Capacity
- Select: 5, 6, 7, 8, etc.
- (Optional) Apply additional time filters
- Click Update
| 💡 Tip | The capacity filter lets you group and analyze small, medium, or large rooms based on seat count. This helps when comparing utilization by room size. |
